Listening Slowly
Several years ago, I had the pleasure of hearing Geetha Narayanan talk about slow learning (I posted a short video recording here. I find Intentional, focused learning more gratifying than typical chaotic "trying to keep up" learning. In the link above, the author tackles slow listening as "listening carefully and deeply and repeatedly". We talk quite a bit about technologies for creating and sharing. How Connectivism Changes My Teaching Practice
Important thought: "The first thing that has struck me is that teaching isn't just about providing content, but facilitating the means for students to connect with each other so they can learn from the content together." In a session last week, a question was put forward about how well courses like this scale. They don't scale if we assume a traditional teacher role.
