End of course survey

PLENK2010 participants are invited to fill out a short survey on their experiences and learning in the course. This survey is anonymous and voluntary and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The NRC PLE team would like to thank you in advance for your time and contribution to the research on Personal Learning Environments Networks and Knowledge. The survey can be accessed here http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3VL2NCT for one week and will close on November 20th.

Research Update

A limited number of participants have been invited to join Helene Fournier in a focus group that will explore the notion of learning through "lurking" (that is, silent or self-directed learning) in PLENK2010. Those who are interested in knowing more about the research can consult the PLENK research wiki for highlights to be shared soon or by contacting the researcher directly at Helene.Fournier@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca.

I've been wondering if any educational game could ever be done well enough to hold students' attention the way wildly popular role-playing games do. Perhaps we've been looking in the wrong direction. What if we could find ways to leverage the huge appeal of well executed games for educational purposes?Kay Novak's PLENK introduction mentions a Second Life Unsymposium, which lead me .... #PLENK2010 Student Apathy or Enthusiasm?
suifaijohnmak, Suifaijohnmak's Weblog
In this Student Apathy: Public Enemy Jason says: I am not one to just rant. I have painted a fairly negative view of the student body thus far, and admittedly there are some fantastic students in each classroom. Unfortunately, the … Continue reading → [Link] 2010-11-11T14:58:21
